NHH has been appointed host of the PIM consortium annual conference in NHH's anniversary year in 2011. "This is a prestigious event, and the participants are among those who set the agenda for development of business schools," says John A. Andersen at NHH's International Relations Office.

Partnership in International Management (PIM) is a consortium of approximately 60 universities and business schools from all over the world. The partnership was established in 1973, and NHH became a member in 1995.

NHH will celebrate its 75th anniversary in 2011 and it has now been confirmed that NHH will host PIM's 38th annual conference the same year.

"The fact that we are celebrating our anniversary in 2011 was among the arguments we made when we applied to host the conference", says John Andersen at NHH's International Relations Office.

The conference will be held in the autumn of 2011, but the actual dates for the event have not been set yet.

Sets the agenda

"PIM is a consortium of top institutions, and the annual three day conference is a prestigious event," Andersen says.

"Here, leaders from the member institutions assemble to take a closer look at developments in the global business school sector, and the key note speakers are often high ranking people from politics and business. The participants are among those who set the agenda for the future development of business schools," he adds.

Important arena

Andersen underlines that the PIM network is an important arena for NHH.

"One might argue that the cooperation with our CEMS partners is closer and more binding at different levels, but PIM is a much larger consortium and includes several American institutions as members. Many of our CEMS partners are members of both organisations," he says.

"PIM is an umbrella organisation where the educational institutions can meet and establish cooperation. NHH uses the PIM network extensively to establish exchange opportunities for students, for example."
